Revenge Friday: Easy Summer DIY

 Hello darlings,

I hope you have been having a good weekend.

How are your new years resolutions coming along? I wrote myself out a list of 10 goals to achieve this year and I checked in with them recently... yeah admittedly I haven't achieved any of them so far. However, I have made some effort with them. I wanted to read 12 books, pass my driving test (this one might not be possible as I have left it a bit late), finish a HR Course and also purchase a car among other goals.

Anyway, I have made some strides in achieving them. I have scheduled some driving lessons and  that HR course has been on my mind-it is quite boring but I have already dedicated so much time I don't want it to be for nothing.

I am going to create a new manifestation board.

Easy Summer Craft

My sister made me a friendship anklet and I wanted to make her one aswell. So I got out ym craft supplies and I made her an anklet with wax cotton cord and some beads I found in my stash.

These waxed cord bracelets are really simple to make and they actually hold up- unlike a lot of the things I make which seems to unravel shortly after making them. You can find a youtube tutorial on how to do the sliding knots here The best 3 adjustable sliding knot bracelets! How to tie simple bracelets fast

For mine I used 1 mm waxed cotton cord which I think I picked up in hobbycraft. I did have more colours but I gave half the packet to my sister.

This is what I made...

So the first one I made for myself out of some red beads that my grandma gave me- she had lived in Kenya and I think that might be where the beads are from. I thought the blue cord looked cute with the red.

The second is re-threaded from an anklet my sister my sister had brought me which has an evil eye and a star- the old cord was looking really tatty so I just replaced it

Then the third one I made for my sister with some pink beads and evil eye beads I found in my stash- really cute.

Anyway, give it a try it is so much fun.

Professional Girlies Tips

I thought maybe I would share some tips with you for the professional girlies. There might be a part 2 to this because this is just what I have thought up briefly.

  • I had a revelation the other day that bananas are actually really budget friendly. I was always buying snacks on the go ect if I needed something to tie myself over and recently I have been just going into Tesco and purchasing a single banana for under 30p.
  • Uncross your legs. This is so random but the other day I realised I have never sat with my legs uncrossed in my life and I am not entirely sure how healthy that is... I don't think its healthy. I am scared to google it but I don't think it is good for you- you do your own research; I'm too scared. I have been really trying not to. I think maybe I do it because I have quite restless legs so I think it is my way of quelling it. So maybe yeah don't sit with your legs crossed all day at a desk. I am really trying not to.
  • I haven't quite completed mine yet but I am trying to get a pouch of supplies to keep in my office with pads, knickers, deodorant just so I have everything. You can pick up a cheap pouch from like the charity shop if you don't already have one lying around (I have hundreds) and put some bits that might be useful to keep in the office. I have also realised that if you go to a big supermarket you can buy the own brand pads which are under 50p for a pack of 14 and they are no less good than the branded ones. But yeah maybe I do a separate post with what I keep in my work pouch.
There will be a part 2 to this but for now this is all I can think of lol.

Falafel Friday

I didn't do very much on falafel Friday. I did grab some food for lunch from a food market. I went for Jamaican and it was lowkey not good- admittedly it is because I went for a vegan wrap and it just didn't have much in it. Oh well... you have to give these things a try.

I always want to like switch up my routine after work, and idk walk to a neighbourhood for a browse and something to bite. However when I leave work I am always in a trance like state and I can't not do my normal route home. However recently I have been switching it up every so often; I like to walk to Tower Hill from my office sometimes. Anyway, that is what I did on Fri.

I have been reading Brideshead Revisited and I finished it on Fri. I really liked it. I watched the ITV series (it is really good and it is free to watch, you just need to download the ITV app) and I liked it, however I was left feeling mildly perplexed and like I was missing something. That is what motivated me to read the book.

The book begins with the narrator Charles, unintendedly returning to a house (Brideshead) which was inhabited by the Flyte family who he had befriended and the story is a flashback which narrates his relationship with the Flyte family. He meets Sebastian Flyte at Oxford University and he goes to stay in Brideshead. One of the main themes of the book is Catholicism - which is maybe why it slightly went over my head. It is a really interesting book- also witty. I read the book and I just wanted someone to talk with about the book.

Okay chit chat next week (most likely).

Love,

Happy Hippo

Revenge Friday: Soho Shopping Trip, Charity shop purchases

 Hello darlings x

I had a couple of nice days off this week and I have a little haul to show you of odds and ends. I hope you enjoy reading; hopefully it is useful to you somehow.

Fun Shopping Trip in London

I went into London on Sunday by myself because my father wanted me to have a look and see if there were any of the records he wanted for Record Store Day. If you don't know, RSD is it is basically a day to celebrate Record Stores and they will have like special vinyl releases which are only available to purchase in a participating store. It actually took place on Saturday but I thought I would go and have a look and see if there was anything available that my father wanted, it is a shame because it would have been a nice atmosphere but I still had fun. I went to Soho where there are 5 record shops close together.

These are what I got...

I wasn't quite sure what I was buying lol. I did purchase one for myself, you can probably guess which.

Then after doing some shopping I went to Farmer J Piccadilly; my mum has really got me into this lunch place. It does like salad plates, where you pick a main (I always go for the tofu) and two salads- it's yummy and feels healthy.

I also popped to a stationary shop Choosing Keeping because I wanted to buy my father a Birthday card. My father drinks lots of herbal tea, so I got him a card that looks like a tea bag and the envelope is the tea bag envelope... you get the picture. I was also planning to buy him some tea (it is a theme); I was thinking about going to Postcard Tea but it is closed on Sunday. Then (tbh I am not sure why I brought this) I also got my dad this kiwi shaped rubber... I thought it was cool, now I am not so sure. I also got my sister a Postcard for Easter, it is a bit of an inside joke with the shadow puppet.

I just realised writing this that I already got my dad a birthday card...

Then I went to Glossier and brought some skincare. Then I made my way back. I actually had such a fun shopping trip.

Charity Shops

I popped down to my high street for brunch and I stopped by a charity shop because I thought I might be able to pick up some bits for work... and I did.

Ignore the jeans.

I purchased this gorgeous blazer which (you can't really see from the photo) is purple and white herringbone. I think this would look really nice over a shift dress or just a shirt and smart trousers. I think it is really pretty and chic. I paid £12 and it is Ralph Lauren.

Then I purchased this beautiful linen shirt/Jacket. The photo doesn't do it justice because I hadn't fastened it very neatly, it is gorgeous. I think with black trousers, briefcase and ballet flats, it will look very smart. This cost £16 and it is by Max & Co. I think I just need to alter the sleeves and I will add a hook & eye to just ensure the neckline stays closed.

So altogether I paid £28 for the two which I think is actually a fair price.

Another thing to buy in a charity shop for work is like wristlets or pouches. I like to keep a clutch or pouch in my big work bag (something that holds banks cards, a plastic bag, phone, pads, lipstick, pens etc) that I can take to the bathroom or coffee shop. You can normally pick up some cute ones from the charity shops. I saw this chic red leather brand new Bimba Y Lola one in a charity shop... I sort of regret not buying it tbh but I do have a lot of pouches so I couldn't justify it. I also saw a Smythson one. Defo have a look in charity shops if you are after that sort of thing.

Easter Treats

What Easter treats are we enjoying this year? I brought these white strawberries from M&S and I was so excited to try these... but they were lowkey not good... they were just strawberries- sort of average ones. They do taste a bit better if take them out the fridge and leave them to sit for a little, before eating

I, of course, picked up some speckled eggs- love these. I love simnel cake so hopefully I can pick up a little one for myself. Yeah let me know what you are tucking into this Easter.

Anyway, I am wishing you a fabulous revenge weekend!

Love,

Revenge Friday: Work outfits and Day Out in Marylebone

 Hello darlings x

I hope you are really well. I have been away for a little bit because I have been busy with some career planning and also I have had the worst PMS, I am not going to lie. Other than that I haven't been up to too much exciting. I did go to an exhibition at the Tate about Leigh Bowery, which was quite interesting, although maybe a little bit lost on me; I was excited to see this exhibition because I was really keen to learn more about him.

Work Outfits?

I have recently needed to build my work wardrobe and I have been doing some googling regarding what to wear; it is a business formal dress code. Shoes are sorted tbh... I have a few options of shoes I can wear. I have created a board on Pinterest of outfit ideas.

I have been googling like what Amal Clooney wears to work, because she seems like someone with her shit together. I am also lusting over the shoes on Sororite Vintage instagram page, they do some lovely designer stilettos, loafers and gorgeous Chanel two tone slingbacks which would be soo nice for work- inspo only because they are really expensive.

I think Alice bands are quite nice for work and I have a couple which would be nice to wear, but if anyone knows of any good brands that sell Alice bands, please let me know because I fancy getting another one in black (I had one... it went mouldy).

But let me know, if you have a similar dress code for work, where you shop and what you wear.

Day out in St Johns Wood

On my day off, on Tuesday, I went to St Johns Wood. It was really lovely weather. I had a browse of the charity shops hoping I would be able to pick up some pieces for work and then I grabbed a spinach pastry and drink from a deli which I ate in Regents Park. Actually I heard a car crash while I was sat in a park; no one was hurt but someone has lost a section of their wrought iron fence. Then I continued to Marylebone to look around the charity shops there.

I didn't buy anything from any of the charity shops; I think sometimes it is helpful to go charity shopping with a second pair of eyes. I then walked to Jeremyn Street where I brought two shirts. I had a really nice day out.

Okay these are the outfits... just picture my hair not being a puffy mess, the shirts being ironed and me wearing the shoes rather than holding them in a very awkward manner x

The bottoms are from mango and I love these; I want to get a pair in navy too but they have sold out in my size- I am so hoping they get restocked.

I purchased the skirt from a charity shop, it is Isabel Marant and the heels are from M&S.

I will defo be back with you soon for another blogpost. I hope you have a fabulous week.

Revenge Christmas: Craft sesh and Revenge Christmas announcement

 Hello Darlings

This is the first Revenge Christmas blogpost. I have a few ideas but definitely let me know if you have any ideas on anything you want me to do a blogpost section on. I apologise it is being posted late; I have recently started a new job and it has been a bit busy. Then I recently passed my driving theory (one step closer to getting my Porsche). So yeah I am working on my 2025 revenge life.

I have been watching some good things on TV at the moment. I have been watching Wolf Hall and also Slow Horses. I recommend both.

Craft Sesh

I made these really cute pyjama shorts last weekend. I made them for my sister in gingham with cute little heart buttons; my sister loves gingham so I think she will appreciate them. The PDF pattern The Darcy Boxers, is a pay what you can pattern (link for it here). It has variations for male and female. Instructions were really clear; I had never sewn a fly before but it turned out really neat. I am really pleased with these.

This was one of the fabrics I wanted to use up, so I am really pleased I have managed to make something from it.

Revenge Thursday

I had to go shopping because I have a new job and I needed to buy some trousers and work shoes. I had never done much online shopping but I decided that I would buy some trousers off Asos; I purchased four and they were all.... abysmal. I returned them all. I just thought it would be easier to order them online rather than crying in a changing room but obviously not.

I was at Victoria Station 5 minutes and some weird man had come up to me and started threatening me- completely unprovoked. It was really unpleasant and I just wasn't in the mood for shopping after that but I needed trousers. I brought a grey pinstripe pair from Mango which I am really pleased with. Then a really boring pair of black trousers from Zara. After shopping I met my friend for dinner in Peckham which was really good.

As you can see from my face I’m fucking thrilled with these.

Okay I will chat again on Friday (probably) and yeah I have a few ideas for Revenge Christmas blogposts.

Revenge Friday: Job Searching, Autumnal Vibes and Frazzled English Woman Walk

Hello darlings,

Hope you are having a good weekend. Sorry I didn't post last week... I just had nothing to say tbh.

I thought this week I would share how I track my job applications using a table because there are a few people I know who are currently looking for jobs and it is quite hard to keep track on what you have applied for and the ones you want to apply for- I think this table helps.

I am also going to share with you like my autumnal faves and things I have been watching.

Using Excel to keep a record of Job Applications + Job searching motivation

So for my job applications I will always keep track of them on a document. I will also add to the table any positions I want to apply for but maybe don't have the time to complete the job application there and then.

I made a quick example of a table- these aren't actually jobs I am applying to and they are made up companies obvs. You could modify it however best to suit you, you can add another column for location or maybe the name of the hiring manager. Whatever is most helpful to you.

I will defo do another blogpost in the future about applying for jobs ect. Some tips I would say to stay motivated is like have a manifestation board nearby and also have a little reward in the back of your head for when you get a new job, like... a celebratory dinner with your partner or maybe like a new pair of ballet flats.

Autumnal faves +things I have been watching

New bag: My Longchamp tote bag held up for like 7+ years until recently when I was on hols the zip broke in every single way a zip can break and plus I had been losing things out of the holes in the corners for the past few months. I originally came to own it because I found it outside a house... sort of a random story. Anyway it is a really great bag and I wanted to replace it- it is the same colour and size (large). My mum picked it up for me in France a few days ago where they are slightly cheaper.

Alma's Not Normal: This is a comedy on BBC and the series begins with Alma breaking up with her bf and she then goes to look for a job. The writer also is the main character in it and it has auto-biographical elements and it is slightly dark but it is really sweet. Alma is really gorgeous and likable. It is sort of a comfort show. I am so bad at describing it- watch it; it is good.

Twin Peaks: I have loved watching this. I am nearing towards the end of series 2 but I starting to pace myself; I don't want to watch it too quickly. It is very autumnal perfect for Halloween vibes.

All of Us Strangers: I watched this on a flight recently and it is really fabulous. It is about a writer who starts a relationship with a man who lives in his block of flats and at the same time he starts to visit his childhood home where his parents, who died when he was a child, are there as ghosts. They aren't like scary ghosts, like he just talks to them as if they were alive. The film is great and it stays with you. I don't really love supernatural elements but this is just executed so well. This is actually perfect for the Halloween season if you don't love spooky films.

Autumnal beauty products: I purchased this lip and cheek tint a few days ago. I already own a bright pink version but I see that as a more summery lip colour so I wanted to get one for Autumn and Winter. I have been loving wearing this and I have actually been getting complements. I love a lip and cheek product like this because it is just so easy to use.

It is also the time of year I get my poisons out. Dior hypnotic poison and poison girl are my autumnal scents and they are an acquired taste- my partner might not be thrilled that the poisons have made a return. I love how these make me feel: sexy and dangerous.

Lapsang Souchong: Another scent that fills my house at this time of year is lapsang souchong tea. I feel like everyone will remember their first cup of lapsang souchong because it is quite a unique taste. It has a beautiful and relaxing smokiness. This is perfectly autumnal because I can just sort of imagine some witches drinking this.

Definitely give it a try- you can get a box of bags in Waitrose for under £2.

Revenge Friday

I am actually really quite troubled by the death of Liam Payne and I just needed to leave the house to try to clear my head. I went for a walk around Blackheath and I did an architecture walk- my parents had a handout from a guided walk they went to, so I followed that. It was a guided walk of span houses... I was not in the right headspace tbh.

Afterwards, I grabbed some food from a bakery to eat on the heath. I walked around the common and the village- they have some really quaint bookshops and caffs.

I am defo due another trip to Greenwich so I look forward to being back in that neck of the woods soonish.

Love,

Revenge Friday: V&A, Shoreditch and life

 Hello darlings

I hope your bank hols was restful. I always find that the end of summer and September is when I like to set some intentions for the rest of the year. So yeah I have been deep in thought and I am trying to do as much on my days off while it is still summer.

Bank hols

I have been watching Twin Peaks (on Paramount +) which I have been really liking so far I am on S1E4. I am loving it.

On Sunday, I went to the V&A and I went to see an exhibition called Tropical Modernism: Architecture and Independence; it was quite a nerdy exhibition but I did sort of get it and learn something. I had the impression that everyone there was really into it and I don't know anything about this basically. The premise of the exhibition was about the modernist architecture that was built in India and West Africa designed by architects such as Le Corbusier.

On Tuesday I went to the Young V&A because I wanted to see the exhibition Japan Myths to Manga and it was really interesting to learn about the Japanese folklore. I have purchased a membership for the V&A so I am trying to get my moneys worth. Afterwards I had lunch in a Venezuelan place opposite (Arepa & co) and I got a vegetarian Arepa which was really good. I then walked to Shoreditch and had a browse of the vintage markets- I always find the vendors to be really intimidating. I walked to Columbia road because I like the boutiques on that street they feel quite upmarket but on a Tuesday it was completely dead. I went in a shop and felt pressured (weird story) to buy an overpriced birthday card for my sister (4.50!). Then I grabbed a matcha and sat in a green to sip it. Grabbed some bagels on Brick Lane and headed home. I had such a nice day and I love that area.

However... (I am going to go on one of the tangents) I had gone to this museum in my childhood but I haven't been for many years since it was renovated. It is completely different, when I used to go there as a child it was called the Museum of Childhood and it was basically just a museum about toys but since its been renovated it is now the Young V&A so it is like a museum for children. That may sound like the same thing but they are completely different concepts. So basically I didn't realise I was going to a children's exhibition basically...

Revenge Friday

I was at work and then when I got home I was exhausted and processing the day I had. I watched a Twin Peaks and I am also working on a little project at the moment- I will tell you when I have some success in it. So I didn't do anything too exciting.

Also comment below like what time of year you like to set goals, intentions and resolutions. Okay have a fabulous week.

Revenge Friday: Gut feelings don't exist, Summery Days Out and Life

Hello darlings

I hope you are doing well and have some nice plans for the bank holiday. I had quite a chill week. I was at work on Friday but I have had some time this week to do some fun summer days out.

What I have been up to

Charity shop brunch day: I popped to the highstreet one day this week to do some errands. I got some brunch. I went for a matcha and toasted sandwich. There are over 8 charity shops and once a month I try to do a charity shop run. I picked up this adorable dress which tbh I could wear to work or on a date with my partner- with some espadrilles or some ballet flats it will be sooo cute.

My back camera has broken lol, so I had to take a selfie next to a mirror- I must have just forgotten self timer exists.

Serpentine Gallery: I went to the Serpentine last Sunday (I think- the days are sort of bleeding into each other) which is always a summery vibe. The gallery is in two buildings; in the South Gallery they have Yinka Shonibare's Suspended States exhibition and in the North Gallery they have Judy Chicago: Revelations. Both exhibitions are worth a visit (they are also free entry) but Judy Chicago was particularly amazing and an artist I wasn't familiar with. In the Serpentine they have their yearly summer pavilion... it wasn't my favourite.

They also had a Yayoi Kusama Pumpkin in Hyde Park.

Defo go to the Serpentine before summer ends; I think both exhibitions are ending early September. I grabbed some sushi to eat in the park and it was really zen.

The Biba Story (Fashion and Textile Museum): My mum and I went to the Fashion and Textile museum to go to the Biba exhibition. Biba was like a fashion and lifestyle boutique in the 60's and 70's which tbh was quite short lived. The exhibition was interesting but I did sort of have more questions than answers, like it didn't really explain why it closed down. I also wish they made it feel like you were in a Biba boutique. Exhibition was really interesting; some of the clothes were gorgeous. I think I defo would have shopped there if I was born 50 years earlier.

After visiting the exhibition I had a browse down Bermondsey street and I went for a matcha latte at Fuckoffee. I really like Bermondsey street ugh I wish I could live there.

Can we really trust our gut? No, not if you have anxiety.

I don’t know if I will be able to articulate this but I was thinking about the idea of gut feelings or gut instinct. When talking about gut feeling people are normally talking about a bad gut feeling: the feeling that a situation, something or someone is bad or dangerous. A gut feeling is often portrayed as a premonition. On social media we hear stories of people who had a gut feeling who heroically acted on it or fatally didn’t. Or we hear guru’s who tell us to be aligned with our gut and to always trust our gut feelings.

Gut feelings don’t exist. We can have a bad feeling about something or someone, but it is based on the evidence in front of us however subtle that is. Do premonitions exist? I don’t think so. Now you might disagree with me. The truth is though if you have anxiety you need to forget the idea of a ‘gut feeling’ because a ‘gut feeling’ (whatever that is) feels like anxiety vice versa. Anxiety is going to present itself as a sort of premonition- ‘I have a feeling something terrible is going to happen today’ or ‘I think I am going to die in a car crash today’.

I just want to reassure you that it is not your responsibility to live by your gut or be in tune with your gut. You live with the logic in your head and hope for the best. It is quite bold for me to say ‘don’t trust your gut’ because it goes so against what we have been told but the idea of a gut feeling is going to keep you trapped and confused.

Revenge Friday

I left work at like 15:00 and I hadn't eaten since breakfast- I was about to drop. So, I grabbed myself a mezze platter from a Turkish restaurant which was really good. Anyway, I went home and rotted on my bed for two hours.

I said I would read 5 books this summer and I have managed to complete one today so four more to go. I probably need to speed it up a bit lol.

Okay have a fabulous week.

Revenge Friday- Summer bucket list, Period Tips and Reading?

Hello Darlings,

I hope you are doing really well. I didn't post last week because I had such bad period symptoms. I was in a pickle.

Last Friday I went for solo brunch; I got shakshuka and a chai latte. Then I went for a walk in a park in an attempt to clear my head- it didn't work. So yeah I did try to do something nice on my day off but I was also lying down on my sofa for the rest of the day watching a bit of TV.

Summer Bucket List

I have acquired a notebook for my summer scrapbook and I have started filling in some pages and also planning some things I want to do in the summer. So I have written a list of some places I want to visit and I think it is do-able that I can tick most of this off.

Other things to include in your summer scrapbook

-Your summer playlists

-Photographs and polaroids

-Perfume testers, tickets and business cards

-Your summer playlist

-Bucket lists, films you want to watch and goals

-Books you have read

-Things you have achieved

-Pressed flowers

It will be soo cute to look back on. Send me pictures of your summer scrapbook pages on Instagram (Happyhippo_blog). I'll show you some of my pages when I have added a bit more. Also don't fret about it being perfect and the joy of scrapbooking is that you can cover up your mistakes, rip a page out if you don't like it ect.

Tips for Heavy and Painful Periods

I get like the type of period pain where you cannot stand up straight on your period. The type of pain where you are sweating, pale, and crying.

I drew this... this is a drawing of myself with a cup of tea on the morning of my period- completely unable to stand up straight. But yeah I thought I would share some tips; there is nothing revolutionary. Definitely look after yourself and make your life easier.

-Wheat bags

I have recently been using a wheat bag instead of a hot water bottle. I love the weightiness of it and it is bigger than a hot water bottle. Also be careful with hot water bottles, I know someone that got a hot water bottle burn and they literally woke up in the morning and they were burnt.

-Breakfast

If you are scheduled to get your period definitely try to eat some breakfast. Especially if you are prone to nausea because it will only get worse if you don't eat. You will have no energy and you'll feel really weak. Have something like granola and yogurt; muesli or berries. Definitely have some yummy food in the fridge

-Iron Iron Iron

If you have heavy periods definitely be careful of iron deficiency and get your iron levels tested if you have symptoms of anaemia.

-Track your Periods

I track mine on a paper calendar because I find with apps there is too much going on and they don't feel very user friendly.

-Do Not Exercise

I wasn't sure about writing this because it is a commonly accepted idea that exercise helps with period pain...but actually I want it on record; I have never believed that exercise 'alleviates period pain'. In my experience exercise can trigger very bad period pain. So yeah if you are in agony do not do yoga and do not go for a run. I am confident that it will be disproven one day.

Revenge Friday

I went into London and it was such lovely weather. I went to a photography exhibition Roger Mayne: Youth at the Courtauld Gallery. The exhibition includes Roger Mayne's documentary images of the youth in the 1950's and 60s and then more personal photographs of his family. Tbh... the exhibition could (and should) have been bigger- it was quite small. The photographs were lovely. I did then have a browse of the impressionism gallery which is always pleasant.

After the gallery I walked through Soho and browsed a few shops. I have been really loving the brand Les Nereides; they do the cutest whimsical jewellery. There were a few pieces I wanted to try on but honestly the shop was quite busy and I could not be bothered but I defo fancy going back in when they are a little less busy. I brought some fruit in M&S and ate it in Green Park because the weather was really lovely. It was really relaxing. Then I walked to Victoria Station.

Book Challenge

I have been thinking of setting myself a reading challenge. I am going to try to read five books by the end of August.

Okay I'll chat to you next week and in the meantime, I hope you have a lovely week x

Love,

Happy hippo

Revenge Summer- Summer briefing and Day Out in South Kensington

 Hello darlings,

I hope you are doing well. I will be posting a sewing blogpost next week because I have been doing a bit of sewing and we are long overdue the second quarter of the year sewing blogpost. This week I thought I would do a really small random haul and I also had a lovely time in Kensington.

Summer Haul

This is going to be such a random haul.

So I stocked up on my favourite shampoo which is the Eco Warrior Shampoo Nourishing Bar. This is a really good shampoo and I have been using it for a while after my partner recommend it to me. I have like wavy/curly hair and for years I was using shampoo that just wasn't right for my hair like Tresemme and Aussi- it resulted in really flat and frizzy hair. I don't use a conditioner (the shampoo is not stripping and instead it feels moisturising) and after washing sometimes I'll use the Amika curling cream. You can buy this shampoo bar from Waitrose. Yeah one of my summer glow up tips would be to learn how to style your hair; what products suit your hair and what washing and styling method works best for you.

So I have this idea about having a stone circle summer; I would like to visit a few stone circles this summer on my days off. This led me to purchase this book Weird Walk from my local bookshop. I had seen a few people talk about this book on Instagram and it looked quite interesting. Weird Walk started as a Zine exploring the UK's ancient sites and they have now gone on to publish this book which is chaptered by season. I have already had a flip through and I have a few places I have bookmarked.

I have also selected a notebook (I had quite a few empty ones) which I am going to use as a summer scrapbook.

Revenge Sunday

So I sort of had a chill morning on Friday; I had leftover cold pizza from Thursday night and I also spent the morning filling in the conservative wipeout bingo- it was a good morning. I went to a concert later that evening in Crystal Palace park but the weather was actually so crap. It sort of makes it worse that it was quite exposed and we were battling the elements.

On Sunday though I did go to the V&A to the Naomi Campbell exhibition Naomi in Fashion which had loads of the clothes and outfits she has worn throughout her career. Some lovely pieces.

They have two other exhibitions at the V&A that I would like to visit.  They have the Tropical Modernism and the Fragile Beauty: Photographs from Sir Elton John and David Furnish Collection exhibition.

Vivienne Westwood look.

The outfit on the right is what she wore to Alexander McQueen's memorial service.

Thierry Mugler dress

After grabbing some lunch at the V&A we walked along the High Street. We went to Octavia Foundation Charity Shop and I was trying on some work clothes. I purchased an Isabel Marrant skirt which I will wear with a plain shirt for work.

I'll insert a picture of me wearing it when I wear it out.

After browsing Harrods we walked to the station.

Okay I'll chat to you soon.

Revenge Friday- Shopping and day out in Hampstead (29/06/24)

Hello darlings,

The full moon and the longest day of year were hitting me hard last Friday. I had so much weighing on my mind. Maybe you were feeling it too.

I have been really enjoying watching the Euros and so lovely because it has been sunny in the past few weeks.

I will be doing some summer revenge blogposts and I was thinking of maybe setting like a challenge like a glow up challenge.

This weeks blogpost, I was going to do a haul but... I didn't buy anything. So instead I thought I would just write about what I have been up to and then next week we can have a summer briefing.

Revenge Friday- shopping trip fail

On Friday I went shopping in London because I wanted some work clothes for summer. For lunch I went to a ramen place in soho (Tonkotso) which was really good and the lunch time menu actually worked out quite inexpensive.

So I was sort of looking for some linen trousers and I also wanted a cowl or boat neck tshirt (a tshirt that looks smart basically). I am really fussy and I didn't buy anything. I tried on a really cute linen set from Jaeger and it did look really nice but it was going to total to £215 so I needed to sleep on it. I wasn't quite sure whether it was giving off young energy.

Then I tried on this smart top in M&S and again I actually liked it (it would go nicely with my work trousers) but it was £56 and tbh I don't know if I like it that much.

Oh I tried on this clown outfit in Nobody's Child but the fit was awful. I don't like trousers that have pleats at the front and I don't think they ever flatter me. I am drowning in it.

I went in loads of other shops but I didn't buy anything. Tbh I am not very good at shopping on my own because... I don't make good fashion decisions lol. I had wanted to go to an exhibition but I just didn't get time.

I did go to the Liberty Bridgerton Experience which was quite a laugh. This is me in a 'carriage'.

Sunday Outing

Last Sunday I went to Highgate Cemetery with my partner and had a tour around the cemetery; I had it on my to-do list for a few year. So its a Victorian cemetery and as well as having some very interesting people (Michael Faraday, Christina Rosetti, Elizabeth Siddal, Karl Marx, George Michael and many others) buried there, it has a really interesting history too. So you have to pay to enter and I would recommend going on a tour because you do learn a lot and otherwise you wouldn't really know what you were looking at. I really recommend going- it is really beautiful.

We walked towards Hampstead and got some food in a bakery to eat in Hampstead Heath. Then for the rest of the afternoon we spent in a pub garden watching the England match.

I had such a lovely day.

Let me know what blogposts you want to read. I am hoping next blogpost will be like Summer inspo. Chat soon!

Revenge Friday- Sloan Square and deinfluencing London

 Hello darlings,

I am very out of sync with these revenge posts. Sort of a bit random but I been looking into books about the menstrual cycle because I am sort of coming to the realisation that my hormones really effect my consistency and productivity. So if you have like any recommendations for books (I have a few on my list) let me know.

Okay so this week I thought I would discuss some things I want to deinfluence in London. I see a lot of like Instagram content where they recommend things in London and sometimes they are good... but they can be very questionable. So if you would like this as a series I could definitely do that. I just thought of a few off the top of my head this week.

Deinfluencing- London Edition

Pls don't kill me these are just my opinions.

The Art of Banksy- So this is a exhibition in Soho London of Banksy's art and I walked past this place a week ago and I was basically just very intrigued because... it is not 'curated or authorised by the artist'. I am intrigued (I will leave it there). I am not telling you not to go (it will probably be great) however I think it is just as good to see one Banksy than 150.

I think there is an interesting trend at the moment of like these exhibitions and experiences in cities. I think it sort of began with the popularity of immersive Van Gogh and at their worst they end up like Willy's Chocolate Experience. I am sceptical about whether the experience is always a good experience tbh.

Joyriding- It isn't joyriding but like I have seen this so often in London where it is like people driving about for entertainment often in sort of flashy cars and playing very loud music in the sort of centre of London. I saw a few weeks ago it was a car it had been modified to have a DJ set up in the top of the car and they were playing really loud (also quite bad) music- I could hear it still when I was walking two streets away. I have seen also last weekend a car it was modified to have a sound system on the roof and followed by like eight flashy sports cars and again the music was just awful. It is just so obnoxious. So not really like deinfluencing you necessarily (tbh I just wanted an excuse to complain to you about it) but it is sort of a part of that influencer culture- look at me vibe.

Boozy Bottomless Brunch- I am sure at some point I will do the bottomless brunch. I have to say though... as a society we have got to do better than this. I was thinking that it must be quite uncomfortable to work as a waiter at a place that does bottomless brunch because it just feels like there is a lot of scope for awkwardness- as in people feel like really entitled or people being like very drunk.

Sort of on a separate topic but I was in London Bridge with my friends and we were chatting about the London Dungeons and how you don't really hear about it anymore. Like I remember this being the shit back in the day- is it still popular? I never went because tbh I was quite a sensitive child and I probably would not have enjoyed it at all.

Revenge Friday

I was at work in the morning and then I met my mum in Sloan Square about midday because we wanted to do some shopping in Peter Jones.

(emotophobia warning) Revenge Friday is sort of about facing fears and self improvement and this Friday was no different. I ate at the Peter Jones Cafe. Bit of context when I was younger I was given severe food poisoning from eating at a John Lewis Cafe; I ended up throwing up in the cinema 10 minutes towards the end of Happy Feet (2006) (I never did see the end) and then threw up on the journey home. It was bad and I have never really eaten at a John Lewis cafe since. However this Friday, I just felt it was time to return. Anyway, I had a salad for lunch and I am still alive.

I am so obsessed. I know the bag doesn’t go but I’d still be tempted to wear them together.

Then we looked round the department store and I purchased this really cute dress in the sale it was I think 40% off. I love the pattern and the puffy sleeves. I can't wait to wear this in the summer.

We then had a look down the King's Road. I had like an email the previous week from Space NK and it was like a birthday gift that I could claim in store and I didn't have to purchase anything to claim it. Anyway this was the gift…

We had a look in a few other shops and then made our way home.

Okay, chat soon!

Revenge Friday - Summer Wish List, Day Out in Bermondsey and What I Have Been watching

 Hello darlings,

I hope you enjoy reading this post! This week I am going to tell you about my day out in Bermondsey and what I have been watching. Also Netflix has released a few more shows and I am very relieved because I was getting slightly desperate. I was so desperate I watched this awful show called My Life With the Walter Boys- it was so bad. I do apologise for this slightly boring post.

What have I been watching

Ripley: I watched this with my mum because she loves the book and also the film. I was a bit reluctant to watch it- I am quite fragile and stuff like of that subject matter really upset me. I did really get into it and I had watched the film but I like it as a TV series because it is like a slower pace but it is very exciting to watch over several nights. I really enjoyed watching it over the past week. Yeah it also defo makes you want to go back to Italy. Defo give this a watch.

Baby Reindeer: I am currently watching this series and it is really unique. It is based on the writer of the series, Richard Gadd, (he plays himself in the series) experience of being stalked by a woman who claims to be a lawyer. She sends him these really unhinged, incoherent emails and it gets progressively more sinister. It is soo fucking chilling and scary. It is slightly excruciating at times because you really see like hindsight. I am only on episode three but I am soo gripped. It is very like thought-provoking.

This Town: This is on BBC iplayer and yeah I watched this a few weeks back. It is basically about a teenager called Dante growing up in like the 80s and he is trying to start a band with his friend and his cousin. I enjoyed it but I found it slightly cringy and it is co-written by kae Tempest who, I am ngl, I am not a fan of at all... I just don't get their music. There are several story lines such as Dante and his cousin's quite dysfunctional family. Dante's cousin Bardon is also being like forced by his father to do tasks for the IRA. There is a lot going on in this six part series, idk if it completely works. That being said, I quite enjoyed watching it.

Summer Wishlist

I am so done with this weather and so looking forward to summer. I have been thinking about some things I want to get for summer. So here is what I fancy.

Black linen dress- I had this really nice black linen dress and I had a few clothes at university that just didn't make it back home (I hate losing things) and this dress was unfortunately one of them. I loved this dress. So I would like to replace it and I am going to try to make it. It was a really lovely dress and I have been thinking about how I can remake it- I have a plan.

Embroidered Cardigan- I have a pink cashmere cardigan that I have had for years and to be totally honest it is so not my colour despite the fact I wear it all the time. I would sort of fancy getting a new cardigan but I would quite like it to have embellishments and to be a cosy cashmere. I have a few saved on my vinted so I think at some point I will pick one to buy.

Sol De Janeiro 68- I went to the cinema a few weeks back and the person sat next to me was wearing this perfume (or one really similar) and granted I think they had way too much on but I was not complaining because it smelt gorgeous. I would like this but in order for me to buy it for myself I need to finish three perfumes- that is what I am saying to myself. I find it really hard to finish perfumes because every scent is like a time in your life and a memory.

Revenge Friday 12/04/24

My Mum and I went to London Bridge because there was an exhibition at the fashion and textile museum that we wanted to see. Firstly we had a browse down Bermondsey Street and we got a coffee and matcha latte from Fuckoffee which was really chill. Then we went for a viewing at Kerry Taylor Auction, it was a fashion sale and accessories sale and it had some cool things. I tried on a few things but nothing was really doing it for me. We didn't end up putting a bid on anything. I think there is another auction in June so I will probably go again for that.

We got some lunch at a Vietnamese place. Then we went to the Fashion and Textile Museum and it was basically so busy they weren't excepting walk-ins for another two hours. I just couldn't be bothered to wait. The exhibition is on for another few months so we will probably go another time. Then we went to Borough Market but I suddenly got really bad period cramps- agonising. We ended up heading home but yeah despite it not going completely to plan I still had a really fun day.

Okay I will chat to you again very shortly.

Revenge Friday- Easter vibes

 Hello bunnies x

I hope you are well and having a good Easter. I am working unfortunately on the Saturday and Easter Monday too.

My Easter decorations.

Revenge Friday- Revenge Trip to Crystal Palace

I am on my own for easter and I feel like everyone has left London so I sort of wanted to go into town and go to a department store and buy some Easter treats to get in the mood. However, I woke up and just couldn't be arsed. So instead I just went to Crystal Palace and it was actually so lovely. I went to a Cafe for lunch and got an omelette and chips which I ate on the terrace. I am trying to remember the last time I went to Crystal Palace and yeah it has been ages- I sort of forgot how lovely it is. I had a browse of the boutiques, antiques shops and charity shops. I promptly left one charity shop when I saw an ugly shein dress for sale for £10.95- they're delusional.

Then I went to a chocolate Cafe, Blowing Dandelion which was really cute they had like lots of easter eggs and truffles for sale- it was very busy as you can imagine. I chose four little eggs and I also got a hot chocolate to-go because I wanted to walk through the park with it. The staff were really friendly and the hot chocolate was good. So yeah I recommend you going if you live in the area and you want to buy some chocolate.

They let me pick the ribbon colour too! I also picked up some earl grey tea from the health food shop because I want to make an afternoon tea on Sunday with hot cross buns and I will have my chocolate.

Then I walked through Crystal Palace park and made my way home.

Anything else?

I am going to have a think about some things to write for the next few Revenge Friday posts.

I actually did manage to finish sewing a dress. I think it looks really cute. I have decided to start doing a quarterly sewing post. So that will be posted maybe next week.

Alright see you next week!

Revenge Friday- Valentines Outfit, Day Out in London and life

Hello darlings x

I hope you had a lovely Galentines or Valentines Day. I didn't end up doing anything actually (logistical issues). I am sure at some point I will celebrate it- maybe next week. My sewing machine kicked the bucket last week so I need to go and get that fixed.

Films and TV

One Day (Netflix): This is so so good. I definitely recommend you watching this. It’s about a man and a woman who meet at a University party and they become friends. The TV show is based on a book and basically they meet up on a particular day every year. It’s really sweet but quite sad.

There are a couple of films I want to see at the moment that look really good. I really want to see All of us Strangers and The Zone of Interest, so I think I will maybe go see one next Revenge Friday.

Valentines Outfit Plan

I didn't actually do anything for Valentines day but I have such a cute outfit planned for when my partner reschedules. I got these really cute lacey tights in the Tezenis sale after Christmas. They were like 60% off or something, so worked out I think around €2.50. My sister got the same ones but in pink. Then I have this Zara dress. Then I just finish off the look with some black heels and a white faux fur (for the mob wife vibe).

I was going to try it on but was feeling lazy.

Revenge Friday

I went to London because I wanted to go to an exhibition at the Courtauld Gallery which was actually really good. It was Frank Auerbach: Charcoal Heads and yeah it was pretty fab. There was two rooms of his charcoal portraits and they were very striking. A lot of them had been like sort of patched up and reworked and it was interesting reading about his creative process.

There was a Hello Kitty exhibition at Somerset House and I was sort of tempted but I was on my own and I just felt a bit like it was something I would rather go to with someone else (there is a Hello Kitty Disco in the exhibition and I can't just be dancing on my own in the Hello Kitty disco). So yes my poor partner might be getting dragged to that.

For lunch I went to a Japanese Ramen place near embankment station called Ippudo. I had been there before with my mum and I had liked it. I got a vegetarian Katsu curry and some veggie gyozas. It tasted way nice than it looks, it looks quite bleak in that photo. It was quite a relaxing experience sat at the bar on my own.

I walked through Covent Garden. I went to the usual shops I always go to. I walked to Carnaby Street and browsed Liberty's. I had a Matcha latte at Grind, they do really strong coffee and the matcha lattes are really good. I tried on some clothes from & other stories and I was humbled because they looked awful on me.

I had some vouchers which covered a perfume, I picked up Miss Dior. I did actually order a card case when I got home because I accidently card clashed and I am so annoyed with myself so I thought to avoid doing that again I will use a separate card holder for my travelcard.

I loved my day out- so much fun. Let me know if you enjoy my little day out posts or what other content you like seeing.

I will chat with you soon!

Revenge Friday- Fun Topiary, Priscilla and Pamper Evening

 Hello sweeties x

I hope you are doing well. I feel like I was the only one who wasn't watching The Traitors but my friend was raving about it so I tuned into the last episode. Omg it was so exciting. Even though I hadn't watched the rest of the series I was still on the edge of my seat like screaming.

Bunny Bush

There is a road that my parents and I sometimes drive along if we are heading into central London and it has a house that has a bush in the shape of a bunny. It is so fucking cute! It has a little red bow around his neck that makes it look like a Lindt chocolate. My family actually didn't believe me at first because every time we would go past they would miss it.

Then! A month ago, down towards Penge high street, I saw a dinosaur bush!

The bunny is my fave. But please let me know if there is any more fun topiary in SE. I have heard there are a few in North London- so I think I might go visit them one Friday.

Okay this is a screenshot of the bunny from a snapchat I took, sorry for the terrible quality.

Pamper Night for the Anxious

I am really bad at relaxing before bed and I have been thinking I need to start a bedtime routine. I have really bad anxiety and it is just such a nightmare. I feel like it just weaponises everything I like and I just become really anxious about doing things I used to enjoy. I feel like the anxious thoughts just really flare up at night.

Anyway I did try and have a pamper evening this week- I had a face mask and I watched a show. It is called Brideshead Revisited and it came out in like the 80's and it is set on a book about a man who goes to Oxford and he sort of develops a crush on this other man. I am only up to the second episode. I think it is sort of like Saltburn- which I haven't watched but my friend said I should.

I planned to paint my nails but I just got too anxious to do it. I don't even know what I am scared of.

I have actually started to sew again. I am making a dress which I am so excited to wear (with a pair of espadrilles), especially when I go to Italy and France. I am also making a Valentines gift for my partner which hopefully goes better than the embroidery I started making them last year which before I could finish it, it had become mouldy lol.

Revenge Friday

I met my friend in London and we went to see Priscilla which is Sofia Coppola's new film. My friend and I are quite fond of her other films so we both agreed we would see this film together. It was really good and I defo recommend seeing it. We then grabbed some sushi for lunch- does anyone else dislike the new itsu with the sushi not on display? I feel I can't make a good choice. We had a browse on Carnaby Street and also walked to Covent Garden. Yeah it was such a nice day. It is always fun seeing my friend.

Revenge Friday-What I have been watching, deinfluencing and day out in London

 Hello darlings x

I hope you have had a fabulous Revenge Friday. My day was really nice.

What I have been watching and listening to

Things fell apart presented by Jon Ronson (BBC Sounds)- I sort of adore Jon Ronson he seems very empathetic and he reports on some really intriguing things. There is a series two of Things Fell Apart which is a podcast where each episode of the podcast is a story from the culture wars but this series it is about the Coronavirus Pandemic. It is so worth listening to.

Hunting the Rolex Rippers (BBC Iplayer)- This just popped on TV one night when my mum and I were just about to go to bed. However, we were so gripped by this show that we ended up staying up and watching it to the end. It is a short documentary about the rise of watch thefts that have happened. It is actually shocking and sort of frightening, luckily in the documentary the thieves say they only go for watches above 10k so it is safe to say I wont be targeted for my casio lol. But yeah it is so sinister because they speak about almost spying on their victims, like they will get women to sort of look for victims in like bars and clubs ect. The ending of the documentary is a bit, it ends on quite a weird note.

Milli Vanilli documentary (Paramount +)- I watched this with my mum last week and tbh we weren't really expecting much. If you don't know about milli vanilli they were like a pop duo who basically had a few hits but the thing was they had never actually sung on their albums and in concert, it was literally someone else. So they were basically living a lie. The documentary is a very sympathetic portrayal though, you defo feel sorry for them. It is quite interesting because in the documentary the surviving member of the duo said that they started to sort of believe their own lies, like they started to think it was really them singing. It is just such a crazy story.

Deinfluencing you

So I am not sure who originally coined this deinfluencing term, so I am not sure who to credit but it is a term I have seen floating about the internet. Deinfluencing is basically the opposite of influencing, so you are telling people not to do/buy things.  Usually like deinfluencing products or things with a lot of hype; so here is my list...

Candle Warmers- This is just honestly pointless. It is basically a lamp that you put over a candle instead of burning the actual candle wick. I think I had seen this in a gift guide around Christmas time and my first thoughts were like... please please no one buy this for me. I just don't get it.

A Square Croissant- I saw this recommended by like a London Instagram page (one of them pages that recommends places to eat and things to do ect in London) and it is basically a bakery that sells... square croissants but there is a lot of hype around it. It is just a bit gimmicky. Is it popular because it tastes nice or is it popular because it is a square croissant?

Ralph's Coffee Bar- I keep seeing this coffee place on Instagram. It is a cafe at the bottom of the Ralph Lauren store on Bond Street and I was thinking of going if ever I found myself in that neck of the woods. I just thought it looked cute and preppy. But back to the square croissant, people won't be honest on Instagram and say 'my square croissant was stale', it is about the aesthetic. It is the case of style over substance.

Whispering Angel- I saw a lot of hype around this wine and so I did get a bottle at Christmas. It was either corked or this is just not a good bottle of wine.

I can defo see myself doing more deinfluencing lists so if you have any ideas drop me a line on Instagram or comment below. I didn't put Stanley Cups on this list because I sort of get the appeal although I don't get why you would collect them in multiple colours. I think the more intriguing aspect of the trend is that I have seen a few posts on Instagram where people are putting alcohol in the Stanley Cups which honestly if you are doing that you are an alcoholic.

Revenge Friday

I met up with my partner for lunch and we went to J Sheekey. I had like battered prawn and courgette to start and then risotto for main which was really good. I have been really enjoying trying out a few restaurants in London; I love places that are quite classic.

We then went shopping, and neither of us really purchased anything. My partner was looking for clothes but I think he prefers to shop on his own. I did sneakily buy a Valentines card from a stationer while my partner was stood outside vaping and I got my sister a Galentines card- I am very organised this year.

After browsing some shops we got a matcha late and we actually decided to see a film. We decided to see the Wonka film but neither of us had seen the trailer and I am not sure what I was expecting but that wasn't it lol. It wasn't quite our thing (it is very much a children's film) but tbh it was like enjoyable nonetheless.

These are the cards I got... the one for my sister is like lowkey creepy. Like it looked really cool in the shop because it has like the lenticular design but on the train home I actually felt a bit creeped out- I feel guilty sending it to her. The the one for my partner is just like a simple rose.

Lots of love

Revenge Friday- New Shirt, the flake crazy-maker and Revenge Friday

 Hey darlings,

Happy Friday! I hope you are doing well. I was at work today covering someone's shift. I finished watching the ITV drama, Mr Bates vs The Post Office, which is pretty shocking and heart-breaking. It is being discussed loads at the moment and it is defo worth a watch if you haven't already.

New Shirt

I purchased a new shirt off vinted a few weeks ago and I paid about £10 for it. I thought it would be really cute with a pair of shorts or like a black shirt, with ballet flats. It is a Fiorucci sample and Fiorucci is one of my favourite brands to shop on Vinted. I am really pleased with it, I love the ruching at the front.

But then... my mum was watching Antiques Roadshow and guess who was wearing the exact same top... Fiona Bruce! I am actually a bit stunned.

Flaky Crazy Makers

So I want to talk about crazy makers. This was a term I read in a self-help book (The Artist's Ways by Julia Cameron) quite a few years ago now and at the time I identified that I was dealing with a Crazy Maker. Just for clarity this is not a current situation but I am writing this because I have seen friends and people I know sort of deal with a crazy maker and as a result this was in my notes of things to blog about. Also if you have watched the TV show Lupin, Assane is a crazy maker- you cannot convince me otherwise.

In the book, Julia is sort of talking about a crazy maker in the creative industry but the type of crazy maker I want to talk about is that person that is inconsiderate of your time and money and let’s you down at nearly every opportunity.

I will go into detail, they will stand you up 2/3 commitments normally with about two hours notice for excuses such as…

  • Sorry I can’t come out tonight I did too much coke last night and feeling rough :(
  • Grandparents birthday (it’s the birthdays that always got me because it’s not like it’s the same fucking day every year).
  • I don’t know if I can come out tonight because I had to wake up early this morning to take my nephew to school (they’re unemployed)
  • I’m broke

There is often a bit of a pattern- they will portray themselves as a victim and you will be feeling sorry for them.

Sometimes they don’t even have an excuse. They’re the type of people who you will message to confirm whether they are still good to go out with you later and they will reply ‘I don’t know’- what does that mean? They are just chaotic. They have never heard of a planner or a diary. You will think I am really cold for ranting about people like this but I was patient and understanding for too long. Where was their understanding?

If you are in a relationship with a crazy maker, you have to leave them and soon because life is short and they are making you age prematurely. But I know it’s not always easy if you are sort of caught up in their craziness or you have a crush on them. I am going to give you some advice

  • Take their ‘maybe’ as a ‘no’
  • Never prioritise their plans over something better- if you can’t decide between idk going with your friends to an event or spending an evening with the crazy maker, go out with your friends. The crazy maker will make you feel guilty but that’s because they are manipulative. Remember they probably would have stood you up anyway.
  • If they stand you up, go on your own
  • Don’t believe their promises- it could be a night out in a restaurant, a holiday, or some other callous mention of a future together
  • Learn from this- once you have left them (and you will leave them) don’t ever put up with this again and spot the signs early on.
  • Keep your heart open. Sometimes when you are dealing with a crazy maker you sort of become numb because you put their life before your own. It’s called self preservation.
  • It’s okay to doubt their excuses
  • Never think it’s because you aren’t cool girl (or cool boy?) enough. They will probably portray you as having zero chill or not being cool enough because you want to be treated with respect. Well then I am not cool.
  • Remember their craziness is their doing. Like it’s so important to have like understanding and empathy in a relationship but remember it should be mutual

Revenge Friday

I didn't actually do anything because I had picked up someone's shift at work but I think next week I am planning to go into town. Maybe go to an exhibition or something. I might try and catch the last of the sales but tbh I think they will be over now.

Okay chat next Friday.
